Mozart Festival Opera
Mozart’s final masterpiece, Die Zauberflöte, is a playful and profound look at man’s search for love and his struggle for wisdom and virtue. The mystical symbolism, fantastical characters, and magical presentation make it a perfect way to introduce children and adults alike to the world of opera, while the virtuosic arias of the Queen of the Night and the folksong-like melodies of the birdcatcher Papageno will enchant the most enthusiastic opera aficionados. The Boston Globe has praised this “unusually elegant” production for its “strong cast” and “spitfire coloraturas.” Sung in German with English supertitles; accompanied by the Sofia Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.
