Aimée M. Petrin, executive director of PCA Great Performances, named to the Maine Arts Commission and the Board of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters

PORTLAND – Aimée M. Petrin, the executive director of PCA Great Performances, has been named to the Maine Arts Commission and to the Board of Directors of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, the leading national service organization for the presentation of live art.

The organization that Petrin directs, PCA Great Performances, is a Portland-based nonprofit organization that has brought world-renowned classical and popular music, jazz, opera, dance, theater, and Broadway performances to southern Maine annually since 1931. PCA also brings the exhilaration of the performing arts out into the community with season-long educational and outreach programs called PCA Offstage.

Petrin brings broad experience in the performing arts field to her service to both the Maine Arts Commission and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. Prior to joining PCA, she was programming manager at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, Vermont. She is the former Northeast partner representative to the National Performance Network and has twice been invited by the New England Foundation for the Arts to act as a delegate to international arts exchanges with Mexico. Petrin currently serves as a member of the Bates Dance Festival Advisory Board and is the former board chair for the Arts Presenters of Northern New England.

The mission of the Maine Arts Commission, a state entity, is to encourage and stimulate public interest and participation in the cultural heritage and programs of our state, expand Maine’s cultural resources; and encourage and assist freedom of artistic expression for the well-being of the arts, meeting the needs and aspirations of persons in all parts of the state.

Since 1931, PCA Great Performances has brought high-quality performing artists to southern Maine, including classical and popular music, jazz, opera, dance, theater, and Broadway performances. In addition to live performances, we bring the exhilaration of the performing arts out into our community through educational and outreach programs called PCA Offstage. Formerly known as the Portland Concert Association, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Maine the world.
