Schutz, a partner at Preti Flaherty Beliveau & Pachios LLP in Portland, practices environmental law and civil litigation with a focus on environmental litigation and brownfields, environmental enforcement by state and federal regulators, construction, and complex business disputes. He is also a specialist in media law, representing newsgathering organizations on First Amendment matters, libel and privacy law, state and federal sunshine laws, newsgathering and related matters. A 1994 graduate of Colby College, Schutz received his J.D. from Cornell Law School with a concentration in advocacy. He has been chair of the Southern Maine Chapter of the American Red Cross, clerk of the Maine Freedom of Information Coalition, and a member of the Environmental Technology Board of the Maine Technology Institute. Schutz also works on pro bono cases through the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project and the Maine Civil Liberties Union.

Since 1931, PCA Great Performances has brought high-quality performing artists to southern Maine, including classical and popular music, jazz, opera, dance, theater, and Broadway performances. In addition to live performances, we bring the exhilaration of the performing arts out into our community through educational and outreach programs called PCA Offstage. Formerly known as the Portland Concert Association, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Maine the world.
